Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya Launches ‘eShram – One Stop Solution’ for Unorganised Workers’ Welfare

Union Labour Minister Mansukh Mandaviya launched the upgraded ‘e-Shram: One Stop Solution’ portal, aimed at enhancing access to social security schemes for over 300 million unorganised workers in India. The initiative consolidates data from various central ministries into a single repository, simplifying the registration process and ensuring that potential beneficiaries are identified state and district-wise. This upgrade reflects the government’s commitment to welfare, following the earlier launch of the eShram portal in August 2021, which has already seen over 300 million registrations.

Key Features of the One Stop Solution

The One Stop Solution integrates ten central schemes, including the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), enabling seamless access for workers. Mandaviya noted that 60,000 to 90,000 workers join the platform daily, indicating growing trust in the initiative. He urged unorganised workers to register to take advantage of various government welfare schemes.

Collaboration with State Governments

Sushri Shobha Karandlaje emphasized the importance of integrating state government portals with eShram to ensure last-mile connectivity. This collaboration will further identify beneficiaries and facilitate the saturation of welfare schemes across states and districts.

Future Integration Plans

The One Stop Solution aims to integrate additional welfare schemes, promoting a comprehensive approach to social security for unorganised workers. Sumita Dawra, Secretary of the Ministry of Labour and Employment, highlighted ongoing efforts to consolidate all welfare initiatives on the eShram platform, demonstrating the government’s commitment to improving livelihoods and well-being in the sector.
