DRDO Signs MoU to Develop 300 MW Solar Projects Across India

In a significant step toward sustainability and energy self-reliance, the Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) to develop solar-based renewable energy projects across its establishments. The collaboration focuses on establishing Net-Zero campuses and enhancing India’s green energy initiatives by 2027.

DRDO-SECI Collaboration on Solar Projects

  • MoU Signing: The MoU was signed between DRDO (Ministry of Defence) and SECI (Ministry of New & Renewable Energy) at DRDO Bhawan, New Delhi.
  • Objective: To develop 300 MW capacity of solar power projects across DRDO establishments nationwide.
  • Goal: Establish self-reliant, Net-Zero campuses at all strategic DRDO locations by 2027

  • Indian Radio Software Architecture (IRSA) Standard 1.0
  • Developed in collaboration with Integrated Defence Staff (IDS) and Tri-Services.
  • Enables interoperability in Military Communication via Software Defined Radios (SDRs).
  • Features standardized interfaces, APIs, execution environments, and waveform portability mechanisms.
  • Aims for indigenous, interoperable, future-ready SDR solutions – “Designed in India, for India and ready for the world.”
