E-Bill System Rolled Out to Improve Fertiliser Subsidy Management
The fertiliser subsidy system plays a crucial role in supporting Indian farmers by keeping fertiliser prices affordable. To improve transparency and efficiency in handling this large public expenditure, the government has introduced a new digital solution. The recently launched E-Bill System for fertiliser subsidies aims to replace manual processes with a fully online mechanism, ensuring faster payments, better monitoring, and accountable use of public funds.
The E-Bill System for fertiliser subsidies was inaugurated by JP Nadda, Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilizers, in New Delhi. The system will be used to process fertiliser subsidy payments worth around ₹2 lakh crore, marking a major shift towards digital and transparent financial governance.
