The jury of the Gandhi peace prize comprises the prime minister of India, the chief justice of India, the leader of the single largest opposition party in Lok Sabha, and two eminent members who decide the awardee. The term of the jury is 3 years. The prime minister of India, the chief justice of India, and the leader of the single largest position party in Lok Sabha are the permanent members of the jury, while the eminent members retire and reappointment is also applicable. The Prime minister of India is the head of the jury of the Gandhi peace prize. If the PM is not available the remaining members of the jury decide on the preceding officer when needed. The majority of the jury is needed to decide the award for Gandhi peace. No protest can be made against the jury’s decision once the decision is final.
