The anticipation for the 66th Grammy Awards 2024 is reaching a crescendo as the nominations have been officially revealed. SZA takes center stage with an impressive nine nominations, followed closely by Phoebe Bridges, Serban Ghenea and Victoria Monet, each securing seven nods. The esteemed list continues with Jack Antonoff, Jon Batiste, boygenius, Brandy Clark, Miley Cyrus, Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo and Taylor Swift all earning six nominations.

Diverse and Genre-Bending Slate

Harvey Mason Jr., CEO of the Recording Academy, expressed excitement about the diverse range of nominees, from breakthrough acts to establish artists, reflecting the best of the music industry. The Grammy Awards ceremony is scheduled to return to Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena on February 4, 2024, and will be broadcasted live on the CBS Television Network and streamed on Paramount+ at 8 p.m. ET/ 5 p.m. PT.

New Categories Introduced

This year introduces three new categories: Best African Music Performance, Best Alternative Jazz Album and Best Pop Dance Recording. Joe Levy, a contributing editor at Rolling Stone, highlighted the significance of the Best African Music Performance category, recognizing the global impact and commercial success of African music and artists in the US.

Album of the Year Showcases Female Dominance

Notably, in the Album of the Year category, all but one nominee is a woman, underlining the influential role of female artist in the music industry.
