‘Hockey Wali Sarpanch’ inks pact with NABARD

Neeru Yadav, a.k.a. “Hockey Wali Sarpanch,” has launched a fresh effort to support the farmers of Lambi Ahir Village. Yadav and NABARD have signed an agreement to launch the Farmers Producers Organization (FPO) with the help of SIIRD (Society of Indian Institute of Rural Development).

  • FPO is a company that was formally established by farmers. Producers can establish a business on the basis of equity shares, including farmers, milk producers, fishers, weavers, rural artisans, and craftspeople.
  • The 15th FPO of this type to be introduced by NABARD in Rajasthan is “Sachhi Saheli Mahila Agro Producer Company Limited,” where Yadav has taken on the role of the company’s Board of Directors.
  • Benefits of the existing FPOs in Rajasthan include better bargaining for cheaper input prices, more room for processing and value adds, quality extension, and consulting services.

Neeru Yadav, ‘Hockey Wali Sarpanch’ donates salary to teach local Girls Hockey

Neeru Yadav has volunteered her salary in order to teach local girls hockey skills and start a state-level squad. Under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) Scheme, she successfully taught 10 girls and assisted in placing them all in MNCs.
