India ranked 116th in the World Bank’s Human Capital Index

World Bank released the report titled “The Human Capital Index 2020 Update: Human Capital in the Time of COVID-19”. The Human Capital Index (HCI) 2020 is a collaboration between the Human Development Practice Group and the Development Economics Group of the World Bank. India has been ranked at the 116th position among 174 countries in the Human Capital Index 2020.

About Human Capital Index 2020:

The 2020 Human Capital Index update includes health and education data for 174 countries covering 98% of the world’s population up to March 2020.It provided a pre-pandemic baseline on the health and education of children.Measuring the human capital that a child born today can expect to attain by her 18th birthday, the HCI highlights how current health and educationoutcomes shape the productivity of the next generation of workers.
