India Tops World Yogasana Championship 2026 Medal Table with Record 114 Medals

India emerged as the champion at the inaugural World Yogasana Championship 2026. As India finished at the first position of the medal tally with the extraordinary efforts and grabs the 114 medals which includes the 102 gold medals. It was held at the EKA Arena in Ahmedabad from June 4 to June 8 and this championship brought together the 522 athletes from 79 countries.

India Tops World Yogasana Championship

The inaugural World Yogasana Championship was concluded as India delivered the most dominant performances seen at the international sporting event.

While competing across the multiple age groups and disciplines, the Indian contingent secured the,

  • 102 Gold Medals
  • 9 Silver Medals
  • 3 Bronze Medals

With the total of 114 medals, India finished far ahead of every other participating nation and underlining the its expertise and long-standing tradition in yoga and Yogasana.

Ahmedabad Hosts the Historic Global Event

The five day championship was held at the EKA Arena in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

Around total of 522 athletes representing the 79 countries participated in the competition. This event has witnessed the strong international participation with 31 countries have won at least one medal and 10 nations have secured the at least one gold medal.

The successful hosting of the championship further strengthened the Ahmedabad’s position as the major destination for international sporting events.

Japan and Argentina Secure Top Positions

While India has dominated the competition, there are several countries also produced impressive performances.

Japan finished second in the medal standings with the,

  • 5 Bronze

Argentina has also secured the third place and it is largely due to the outstanding performance of the athlete Nabila Barraza who has been emerged as the most successful individual competitor of the championship.

Nepal Impresses with 52-Medal Haul

Although Nepal had finished fifth in tally but it has been emerged as the second-most successful nation in terms of total medals won.

With the 52 medals, Nepal has demonstrated the remarkable consistency and depth across multiple categories.
