Indraprastha Gas Limited Appoints Kumar Shanker as New Managing Director
Kumar Shanker appointed as the Managing Director of the Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) and his tenure effective from June 5, 2026. His appointment nominated by GAIL India Limited, a promoter company of IGL and he will brings the three decades of the experience in the natural gas and energy sector.
Indraprastha Gas Limited has officially appointed the Kumar Shanker as the its new Managing Director.
The appointment became effective from June 5, 2026, following his nomination by GAIL India Limited.
Kumar Shanker has formally assumed the charge and will lead the company during the crucial phase of growth in India’s city gas distribution sector.
As Part of the leadership change at IGL Mr. Kamal Kishore Chatiwal has ceased to be the Managing Director and Director of the company.
He has been repatriated to the GAIL India Limited after completing his tenure at the IGL.
The company also clarified that Kumar Shanker is not related to any member of the Board of Directors and is eligible to hold the position under all applicable regulatory requirements.
Kumar Shanker is the highly experienced energy sector professional with more than 31 years of expertise in the natural gas operations, energy infrastructure and policy development.
