India Wins 11 Medals at World Boxing Cup 2025

World Boxing Cup in Astana, Kazakhstan, Indian women boxers Sakshi, Jaismine, and Nupur won gold medals in their respective weight categories. India ended the event with its best-ever medal tally of 11 medals, showing the country’s growing strength in international boxing. This is a proud moment for Indian sports and a big boost for women’s boxing in the country.

Golden Girls Bring Glory to India

In an outstanding display of skill and strength, Sakshi (54kg), Jaismine (57kg), and Nupur (80+kg) won their final matches and secured gold medals. Sakshi defeated Yosline Perez from the USA with a unanimous decision from the judges. Jaismine kept her calm and won against Jucielen Cequeira Romeu from Brazil with a 4:1 score. Nupur showed great power and confidence as she beat Yeldana Talipova of Kazakhstan by a 5:0 score.

India’s Best-Ever Performance at the Event

The Indian boxing team finished with a total of 11 medals — 3 gold, 5 silver, and 3 bronze — making it their highest medal count in the history of the World Boxing Cup. Earlier, in the first leg in Brazil, India had won 6 medals, including one gold and one silver. The performance in Astana marks a big improvement and shows how India is rising in world boxing.

Powerful Start and Strong Finish

The final day of the event began with Sakshi’s confident performance. Her speed, quick punches, and clever moves helped her win the gold medal and set the tone for the day. This win was followed by the victories of Jaismine and Nupur, bringing more joy to the Indian team. The Boxing Federation of India (BFI) praised the fighters and said this performance shows the hard work of the athletes and their coaches.
