ISRO tie-up With Vijnana Bharati (VIBHA) For ‘Space On Wheels’ Exhibition

The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) and Vijnana Bharati (VIBHA) have joined hands to create an exciting and educational initiative called the “Space on Wheels” program. This program is designed to take the wonders of space exploration to the East Siang District of Arunachal Pradesh, making it accessible to students and space enthusiasts in the region.

JN College Pasighat Welcomes the “Space on Wheels”

Introducing the Mobile Exhibition

On the first day of the program, the “Space on Wheels” exhibition made its debut at JN College Pasighat. The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of students from various schools and colleges. The primary goal was to provide valuable insights into ISRO’s activities and India’s space missions, while also kindling interest in space science careers among young learners.

Bridging the Gap: Inspiring the Youth

The mobile exhibition, housed inside a bus, featured intricate models of ISRO’s launch vehicles, satellites, and communication systems. Its mission was clear: to share the achievements and endeavors of the Indian Space Agency with young minds, igniting their curiosity and motivating future scientists and engineers to consider research and career opportunities within ISRO.

A Growing Curiosity in Arunachal Pradesh

800+ Students Dive into the Universe

The second day of the program saw more than 800 students from various educational institutions actively engage with the “Space on Wheels” exposition. The program was inaugurated by the Vice Chancellor of Arunachal Pradesh University, Prof Tomo Riba, along with the presence of JN College Principal Dr. Tasi Taloh and the national coordinator of the Space on Wheels program, Akash Pandey.

Local Outreach: Sharing the Wonders of Space

This state-level program will continue until Wednesday, with the exhibition bus set to visit Independent Golden Jubilee Government Higher Secondary School and Daying Ering Memorial Government Higher Secondary School in Pasighat. This offers students and the public an opportunity to explore the exhibits, further nurturing their interest in space science.

Guiding Lights from the North East

To enhance the educational experience, two eminent scientists from the North Eastern Space Applications Centre in Shillong are accompanying the touring bus. Their presence aims to inspire and answer the queries of students, fostering a greater understanding of India’s space endeavors and sparking scientific curiosity.

Cultivating the Next Generation of Space Enthusiasts

The primary objective of the “Space on Wheels” program remains to provide valuable insights into ISRO’s activities and India’s space missions to school and college students in Arunachal Pradesh. Additionally, it strives to sensitize the youth about the exciting and rewarding career opportunities in the field of space science.

As the “Space on Wheels” program embarks on its journey through Arunachal Pradesh, it is poised to ignite the imaginations of young minds and contribute to the advancement of space science education in the region. This initiative reflects ISRO’s commitment to nurturing future talent and fostering a love for space exploration among India’s youth.
