Justice Alok Aradhe Appointed as Chief Justice of Bombay High Court
The central government has issued a notification confirming the appointments of Justice Alok Aradhe as the Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court and Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya as the Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court. These transfers aim to strengthen judicial leadership in two of India’s busiest high courts.
The notification regarding these appointments was issued on Tuesday, following the recommendations of the Supreme Court Collegium on January 7, 2025. The collegium had proposed Justice Alok Aradhe’s elevation to the Bombay High Court and Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya’s transfer to the Delhi High Court.
Justice Alok Aradhe, aged 60, began his legal career in 1988. With over three decades of experience, he has built a strong reputation in the Indian judiciary, particularly in handling complex legal matters.
