Who was Saint Kabir Das?

Kabir Das was a 15th century saint and poet born in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. Some stories say he was born to a Brahmin mother but was raised by a Muslim weaver couple, showing the mix of Hindu and Muslim influences in his life. He lived from around 1440 to 1518.
