Kane Williamson Retires from T20Is, Ends Career with 93 Matches
On 2 November 2025, Kane Williamson, New Zealand’s celebrated batter and former captain, announced his retirement from T20 Internationals (T20Is) with immediate effect. His decision came just days ahead of a five-match home series against the West Indies, and marks the end of a 14-year T20I journey that began in 2011.
Known for his composure and leadership, Williamson exits the format after 93 matches, becoming New Zealand’s second-highest run-scorer in T20Is with 2575 runs at an average of 33, including 18 fifties and a personal best of 95.
Williamson’s leadership during these tournaments made New Zealand consistent contenders in global white-ball events.
