LoI Signed to Set Up Centre of Excellence for CRISPR Research and Innovation (1)
India has taken an important step in strengthening its biotechnology and gene editing capabilities with the signing of a Letter of Intent (LoI) to establish a Centre of Excellence for CRISPR Innovation and Translation (CoE-CIT). The announcement was made on December 22, 2025 by the Press Information Bureau. The proposed centre aims to bridge the gap between laboratory research and real world clinical applications, ensuring that advanced scientific discoveries directly benefit society.
The CoE-CIT will combine JNCASR’s expertise in biomedical sciences with CRISPRBITS applied gene-editing capabilities.
