Madhya Pradesh Government Unveils Brindavan Gram Scheme and Gita Bhavan Project

The Madhya Pradesh government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, has approved a groundbreaking scheme named ‘Brindavan Gram’. This initiative, formally announced on Janmashtami (August 26), aims to transform selected gram panchayats into model villages, focusing on cow protection and rural development.

Key Features of the Brindavan Gram Scheme

Selection Process

  • One gram panchayat from each of Madhya Pradesh’s 313 blocks will be chosen
  • Selected panchayats will be officially renamed as ‘Brindavan Gram’

Gaushala Establishment

  • Each selected village will have a gaushala (cow shed) established
  • Focus on promoting cow protection and welfare

Promotion of Dairy Industry

  • Emphasis on increasing milk production in rural areas
  • Aim to boost farmers’ incomes through dairy initiatives

Sustainable Energy Integration

  • Implementation of roof-top solar policy in selected gram panchayats
  • Promoting clean and renewable energy sources in rural areas

Implementation and Oversight

  • The scheme will be spearheaded by the Panchayat and Rural Development Department
