National Productivity Week 2026
The National Productivity Council (NPC) will celebrate its 68th Foundation Day on 12 February 2026. The council will also observe National Productivity Week from 12 to 18 February 2026 across India.
This year’s theme is “Clusters as Growth Engine: Maximizing Productivity in MSMEs.” The focus is on strengthening Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) through cluster-based development.
The theme highlights the importance of developing industrial clusters to improve productivity and competitiveness.
Union Minister of Commerce and Industry and NPC President Piyush Goyal has emphasized boosting MSMEs, improving manufacturing capacity, and promoting sustainable industrialisation.

NPC was established in 1958. It works as an autonomous society under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

NPC is a constituent of the Asian Productivity Organisation (APO). India is a founding member and currently serves as its Chair. Through international cooperation and domestic capacity-building, NPC aims to raise productivity standards and support sustainable socio-economic development.
