Union Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya has launched a nationwide volunteering initiative, ‘This Diwali with MY Bharat – Ye Diwali MY Bharat Ke Saath,’ to commemorate the first anniversary of the MY Bharat Portal. Scheduled from October 27 to 30, 2024, the initiative aims to engage over 200,000 volunteers across 500 locations in India, promoting social service and community spirit during the Diwali festivities. This initiative not only underscores the significance of volunteerism but also strengthens the connection between local communities and volunteers.
Market Cleaning: Volunteers, in partnership with the All India Traders Association, will clean designated marketplaces to enhance the festive atmosphere.
Hospital Volunteering: Volunteers will support hospitals in improving patient access to healthcare services, thereby contributing to community well-being.
Traffic Management: Assistance will be provided to Traffic Police in managing congestion at critical chokepoints, ensuring smoother travel during the holiday rush.
The Department of Youth Affairs encourages youth participation by registering on the MY Bharat Portal at www.mybharat.gov.in. Participants are invited to share their experiences through photos and videos on the Mega Event Page, using the hashtag #DiwaliWithMYBharat. This initiative echoes the ongoing commitment to community engagement and social responsibility, paving the way for a brighter and more inclusive Diwali celebration.
