Nobel Prize-winning physicist Philip Warren Anderson passed away at 96. He was born on December 13, 1923, in Indianapolis, Indiana, US. He received Nobel Prize in Physics in 1977, along with Nevill Francis Mott of Britain & the American John Hasbrouck van Vleck, for their contribution on fundamental theoretical investigations of the electronic structure of magnetic and disordered systems. He served in the Navy during World War II & was assigned to work in the U.S. Naval Research Lab.
