Nokia and Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya Collaborate on 5G/6G Research
In a significant partnership, Finnish telecom giant Nokia and Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya (GSV) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly explore advancements in 5G and 6G communications, specifically targeting transportation and logistics sectors. The agreement, signed in the presence of Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, Chancellor of GSV, aims to leverage Nokia’s expertise in telecommunications to enhance various aspects of transportation and logistics.

The partnership reflects GSV’s commitment to an industry-driven approach in education and research. By actively engaging with Nokia and other industry stakeholders, GSV aims to foster innovation and contribute to the development of a technologically advanced transportation and logistics ecosystem in India.
Additionally, the collaboration will focus on leveraging Nokia’s network as code platform, along with developer portals and digital twins, to enhance operations in the transportation and logistics sectors. Fiber sensing, AI, and optical network planning will also be explored as part of this initiative.
