Brahmapur Railway Station is part of the Khurda Road railway division under the East Coast Railway zone. It is a Non-Suburban Grade-2 (NSG-2) category station. Around 12,000 passengers use this station every day. It is a major hub for education, business, especially garments and food products, and offers smooth travel connections.
Many beautiful and holy places are near Brahmapur. The famous Tara Tarini Shakti Peetha is just 25 km away. Other places like Gopalpur-on-Sea beach, Tampara Lake, Chilika Lake, Taptapani Hot Springs and temples like Bhairabi and Mahurikalia are also close by. These places attract tourists.
