‘Operation Abhyas’ Bengaluru Conducts Civil Defence Mock Drill Amid Rising Tensions
In response to a nationwide directive from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Bengaluru witnessed a large-scale civil defence mock drill titled ‘Operation Abhyas’, aimed at enhancing public awareness and emergency preparedness. Conducted by the Karnataka State Fire and Emergency Services Department, the exercise simulated rescue and first aid operations in scenarios like fires, debris entrapment, and high-rise evacuations, especially in the Halasuru area.
The drill comes at a time of heightened national alert following the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, which claimed 26 lives. The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has ordered similar exercises across India to prepare states for potential emergencies amid growing tensions between India and Pakistan.
