India’s oldest Ordnance Factory, located in Cossipore, Kolkata, began its operations on March 18, 1802. In 2021, the Ordnance Factory Board (OFB) was restructured into seven Defence Public Sector Undertakings (DPSUs) to improve efficiency and self-reliance in defence manufacturing.
