Every year, Parsi New year is celebrated on the 16th of August. The Parsi New Year is also known as Navroz. Most of the Parsi community resides in the western part of the country, generally in Maharashtra and Gujarat. The Parsi New Year or Navroz links with Jamshed, an ancient Sasanian King who is believed to introduce the Parsi Calendar. Therefore, the Parsi New Year or Navroz is also known as Jamshed-i-Nouroz.
