PM Launches Ayush Projects In Jhajjar & Pune

Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently inaugurated two institutes of the Union Ministry of Ayush, marking a significant step forward in the promotion of healthcare across the nation. The inauguration ceremony, held virtually, saw the unveiling of the ‘Central Research Institute of Yoga & Naturopathy’ (CRIYN) in Jhajjar, Haryana, and the National Institute of Naturopathy (NIN) titled ‘NISARG GRAM’ in Pune, Maharashtra.

Prioritizing Immunity and Disease Prevention

  • During the inauguration, Prime Minister Modi underscored the government’s commitment to enhancing immunity and disease-fighting abilities among the populace.
  • Emphasizing the importance of nutrition, yoga, Ayurveda, and hygiene in disease prevention, he highlighted the need for a comprehensive approach to healthcare.

Integration of Traditional and Modern Medicine

  • Prime Minister Modi reiterated the government’s stance on promoting both traditional Indian systems of medicine and modern medicine.
  • This integration seeks to harness the strengths of diverse healthcare modalities for the benefit of the population.

Expanding Healthcare Infrastructure

  • In addition to inaugurating the two institutes, Prime Minister Modi announced the establishment of two major hospitals and research centers dedicated to Yoga and Naturopathy in Maharashtra and Haryana.
  • Furthermore, he unveiled plans for a WHO center for traditional medicine in Gujarat, signaling a concerted effort to strengthen healthcare infrastructure across the country.

Significance of the Institutes

  • The ‘Central Research Institute of Yoga & Naturopathy’ in Jhajjar, Haryana, serves as an apex-level research and education facility, equipped with a 200-bed hospital and infrastructure.
  • Similarly, NISARG GRAM in Pune boasts a 250-bed hospital, a Naturopathy Medical College, and a range of amenities aimed at promoting wellness.

  • These institutes represent significant milestones in promoting healthcare through traditional systems of medicine.
