PM Modi Launches ₹10,601 Crore Fertiliser Plant in Assam’s Dibrugar
On December 21, 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of a ₹10,601 crore ammonia urea fertilizer plant at Namrup in Dibrugarh district, Assam. The project developed under the Assam Valley Fertilizer and Chemical Company Limited (AVFCCL) and it will produce 12.7 lakh tonnes of urea annually. It represents a major step towards fertilizer self-reliance, boosting farmer’s welfare and accelerating industrial growth in Northeast India.
The Namrup fertilizer plant is a brownfield expansion within the existing complex. It is being developed by AVFCCL, a joint venture between central and state entities.
