PM Modi Launches Karmayogi Saptah to Boost Civil Service Skills
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Karmayogi Saptah, or National Learning Week, on October 19, 2024, at the Dr. Ambedkar International Centre in New Delhi. This initiative is part of Mission Karmayogi, which aims to foster continuous skill enhancement among civil servants, aligning their competencies with the evolving goals of India, especially towards achieving a developed nation by 2047.
During this week, every Karmayogi is expected to commit to at least four hours of competency-linked learning through various courses and webinars, promoting a culture of lifelong learning and citizen-centric governance.
Skill Development: The program emphasizes the importance of creative problem-solving and the need for a workforce equipped with skills to accelerate national development.
Lifelong Learning: The initiative encourages public servants to engage in ongoing education, promoting unity across government sectors.
Indic Day Webinar Series: Scheduled for October 21, 2024, featuring esteemed speakers who will discuss topics like Indian Knowledge Systems and digital infrastructure.
Key Speakers: Notable figures such as Vedic scholar Mr. David Frawley and tech innovators like Mr. Nandan Nilekani will provide insights into the intersection of traditional wisdom and modern technology.
Prime Minister Modi underscored the potential of Artificial Intelligence in driving progress within “Aspirational India,” encouraging government employees to familiarize themselves with AI’s capabilities during the learning week.
With over 4 million government employees registered and 1.5 crore certifications issued across more than 1,400 courses on the iGOT platform, this initiative marks a significant step towards improving the capabilities of public servants and enhancing citizen-centric governance.
