PM Modi Releases Ram Nath Kovind’s Autobiography

Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the autobiography of former Indian President Ram Nath Kovind, “Triumph of the Indian Republic: My Life, My Struggles,” in Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi on August 12, 2026. The autobiography captures the struggle of President Kovind’s life, public services, journey to become the head of the state and many more. Speaking to the audience, PM Modi spoke highly of the autobiography as a good documentation of Indian democracy and society. Further, he mentioned the commitment of President Kovind for public services, education, modesty and social harmony.

PM Modi Launches Kovind’s Autobiography

The autobiography, “Triumph of the Indian Republic: My Life, My Struggles,” was officially launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The event was took place at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi on August 12, 2026.

PM Modi mentioned that the autobiography is an account of life spent in public services and development of the nation. He even mentioned that the book may serve as a permanent document of Indian democracy and society.

What does the Book Emphasize?

This autobiography centers around the journey and experiences of Ram Nath Kovind in politics.

As per PM Modi, the book tells us about how Kovind, through hard work, perseverance, and education, managed to rise above the lack of resources he had at the beginning of his life to reach the positions where he has reached today, ultimately becoming the President of India, the 14th one.

According to the Prime Minister, the meaning of the title of the book is deeper than just describing individual stories and struggles. The story of success of Kovind is an example of the potential of the Indian Republic and democracy in the country.

Early Life and Personal Struggles of Kovind

During his speech, PM Modi mentioned a tragic event in the life of Kovind, his childhood in Kanpur Dehat when his mother died saving the family possessions during a house fire.

Later in life, a woman from a neighbouring house helped Kovind to raise himself. As per PM Modi, this was helpful for Kovind in learning about social harmony and cooperation.

Moreover, Kovind considers his father an inspiration in life due to the fact that his father provided good values to his children.

Journey from Education to the President

Although he was faced with meager means of learning, education played a vital role in Kovind’s success.

Kovind has had experience as a public official, serving as a member of parliament, and eventually serving constitutional positions. Prior to becoming the President of India, Kovind was also the Governor of Bihar.

According to PM Modi, Kovind once visited his native village named Paraunkh, where he bowed down to the soil and paid respects to his old teachers.

Kovind’s Role in Public Affairs after Presidency

Moreover, PM Modi emphasized that Kovind kept contributing to public affairs post-presidency.

As President, he headed the High-Level Committee on One Nation-One Election, which discussed the feasibility of synchronization of elections to the Lok Sabha and State Legislative Assemblies.

As mentioned by the Prime Minister, “His continued involvement in the issue shows his dedication to public service even after the end of his term as President.”
