On a vibrant Sunday in Varanasi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the second edition of Kashi Tamil Sangamam, a cultural extravagance aimed at fostering the cultural ties between Varanasi and Tamil Nadu. During the event, PM Modi also flagged off the Kashi Tamil Sangamam Express, symbolizing the unity of the diverse cultures within India.
In his address, PM Modi emphasized the significance of Kashi Tamil Sangamam in reinforcing the sentiment of ‘Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat’ – the idea of a united and diverse India. He highlighted the unique bond between the people of Tamil Nadu and Varanasi, stating that travelling from Tamil Nadu to Varanasi is like moving from one home of Lord Mahadev to another.

The second edition of Kashi Tamil Sangamam, scheduled from December 17 to 30, 2023, is part of the ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat Yuva Sangam’ program.
