Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi: Benefits & Registration

Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme is a central sector scheme launched on 1 December, 2018 by the department of agriculture and farmers welfare for the benefits of the small and marginal farmers with the aim to provide Rs.6,000 per year given in three instalments.

Features of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojna:

  • PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojna has been launched by the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare.
  • This scheme is a central sector scheme which is 100% funded by the Central Government.
  • The beneficiaries are identified by the State/UT Government as per the record of land-ownership.
  • Under this scheme, Rs.6000 are transferred to the account of the beneficiaries in three equal instalments i.e. Rs.2000 in every 4 months.

Eligibility Criteria for PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojna:

As per the eligibility criteria of this scheme, all the landholding farmer families are eligible to avail the benefits of this scheme:

  • A landholding farmer family is a family consists of a husband, wife and minor children.
  • It must hold a cultivated land listed in the State/UT land records.

Excluded Categories under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojna:

The persons who are not eligible to avail the benefits under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojna:

  • Persons with institutional landholding ownership.
  • If any member of the farmer’s family belongs to any government body or associated with any profession.
  • All income taxpayers.

Benefits provided under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojna:

  1. Income Benefits:
  • Income benefits of Rs.6000 are transferred directly to the accounts of the beneficiaries in three equal instalments.
  • 2000 in every quarter period of the year.
  1. Loan Facility:

Under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojna, the farmer can avail the facility of short-term loans through Kisan Credit Card (KCC) with the following features:

  • Loan at cheap interest rates.
  • Avail loans of up to Rs.3 lakh without any collateral.
  • Provide in-built coverage of crop insurance.
  • Offers flexible loan repayment options.

Documents required for the registration of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojna:

Following documents are required to avail the benefits of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojna:

  • Citizenship proof.
  • KYC documents
  • Bank account details
  • Aadhar card

Methods to register under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojna:

  • Method I– Beneficiaries can contract the revenue officials/ village patwari and provide all the required details to enroll in PM Kisan scheme.
  • Method II- Beneficiaries can visit the nearby Common Service Centre and complete their registration by submitting the required fees.
  • Method III- Beneficiaries can do self-registration through ‘Farmers Corner’ section on PM Kisan online portal.
  • Method IV- Beneficiaries can complete online registration through PM Kisan mobile app.

Steps to register online for PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojna:

Step I: Visit the PM KISAN portal of the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare.

Step II: Go to the ‘Farmer Corner’ section and select the ‘New Farmer Registration’ option.

Step III: Fill up the following details on the New Farmer Registration Form page to check if the farmer is already registered in the system:

  • Rural/Urban Farmer registration
  • Aadhar Number
  • State of the farmer.

Step IV: Fill in the captcha and press the ‘Search’ button. If the system displays no database of the farmer, a window will pop up asking ‘If you want to register yourself.’

Step V: Click on ‘Yes’ option for new registration.

Step VI: Enter all the details and click on save button.

Details required to complete the registration under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme:

  • Name of the beneficiary.
  • Age of the beneficiary.
  • Gender
  • Citizenship
  • Category
  • Bank account details
  • Aadhar number
  • Mobile number

How to check farmer’s status in PM Kisan beneficiary list:

Step I: Visit the PM KISAN online portal.

Step II: Go to the section ‘Farmers Corner’ and click on the tab ‘Beneficiary List.’

Step III: Select the relevant option for the following:

  • State
  • District
  • Sub-district
  • Block
  • Village

Step IV: Check the selected information and click on ‘Get Report.’

The farmer can view their beneficiary status in the list.
