About mobile application “Saiyam”:

The Pune Municipal Corporation has developed a mobile application named “Saiyam” under Smart Cities Mission (SCM). The Mobile Application constitutes GPS tracking facility which alerts the City Administration whenever the quarantined citizens leave their homes. Therefore with this app, the City Administration can monitor the Citizens’ movements on real-time basis from the monitoring cell and the movements will be marked as Red, Yellow or Green. As per the marking, Red colour indicates that the person has moved out for longer duration, Yellow colour indicates that the person has limited movements while the Green colour indicates that the person is confined to house limits.

In this manner, the City administration has successfully taken administrative measures which are complemented by technology solutions to monitor the home quarantined citizens.
