The Council for Leather Exports is an Export Promotion Council sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
CLE plays a key role in promoting Indian leather, footwear and leather products in global markets, supporting exporters through policy advocacy, trade facilitation, and market development.

Ramesh Kumar Juneja’s association with the leather industry spans over four decades.
As the founder of the JC Group, he was among the early industry leaders in the 1980s to collaborate directly with international retailers.
He pioneered the model of becoming a nominated tanner of finished leather, helping Indian leather gain credibility and access to global value chains.

Long Association with CLE

Juneja has been associated with CLE for more than 15 years as a board member.
He has served as the Regional Chairman of the Eastern Region since 2014 and took over as Vice Chairman of CLE in April 2024.
