The first Rashtriya Sanskriti Mahotsav was held in 2015, and it received a positive response from the media and the general public, prompting the organisation of a series of festivals.
  • The Rashtriya Sanskriti Mahotsav offers a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see all of India’s folk, traditional, tribal, classical, and popular art forms under one roof, with over 1000 artists performing.
  • Aangans are put up to represent regional cultures and to showcase traditional Arts & Crafts, with craftsmen setting up stalls to sell their items and demonstrate their excellent skills.

Apart from folk groups:

The Mahotsav has featured prominent Padma and Sangeet Natak Akademi-awarded classical artists among many genres every year. The Rashtriya Sanskriti Mahotsav takes special effort to select musicians who reflect the regional flavour of the state in which it is held.
