Sahitya Akademi winning Bengali author Debesh Roy passes away

Veteran Bengali author Debesh Roy, who had five decades of career as a writer, passed away. He was awarded with the Sahitya Akademi award for his novel ‘Teesta Parer Brittanto’.

The first book of Debesh Roy was Jajati, and he was also a regular contributor to a number of Bengali dailies. He has penned various renowned books such as Borisaler Jogen Mondal, Manush Khun Kore Keno, and Samay Asamayer Brittanto.
