Second Regional Event of ‘Hamara Samvidhan Hamara Samman’ to be held in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh

The second regional event of the ‘Hamara Samvidhan Hamara Samman’ campaign, under the aegis of Designing Innovative Solutions for Holistic Access to Justice (DISHA), is scheduled to take place in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh on the 16th of July 2024. This event commemorates the 75th anniversary of the adoption of the Indian Constitution and India becoming a Republic. The campaign aims to promote understanding of the Constitution and raise awareness about legal rights. The event will see the launch of the ‘Hamara Samvidhan Hamara Samman’ portal, which will serve as a knowledge repository, offering citizens easy access to information to foster awareness about the Constitution and legal rights. Additionally, sub-campaigns ‘Sabko Nyaya Har Ghar Nyaya’, ‘Nav Bharat Nav Sankalp’, and ‘Vidhi Jagriti Abhiyaan’ will also be organised.

Event Details

The event will be held at the Allahabad Medical Association Convention Centre in Prayagraj and will feature the distribution of prizes to winners of online competitions held on the MyGov platform. Competitions include the Samvidhan Quiz, Panch Pran Rangotsav (Poster-making), and Panch Pran Anubhav (Reel-making). Pro bono advocates from the Hon’ble High Court of Judicature at Allahabad, registered under the Nyaya Bandhu programme, will be recognized for their significant contributions.

Launch of the ‘Hamara Samvidhan Hamara Samman’ Portal

The portal, to be launched at the event, will serve as a repository of knowledge, providing easy access to information about the Constitution and legal rights. It will feature glimpses of campaign activities, an event calendar, and tools for interactive and participative learning about constitutional rights through a community-based collaborative approach.

Key Attendees

The event will be attended by the Minister of State for Law and Justice (Independent Charge) and Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs, Shri Arun Ram Meghwal, and the Honourable Chief Justice of the High Court of Judicature at Allahabad, Shri Justice Arun Bhansali. Approximately 800 participants, including advocates from the Allahabad Bar, government counsels, judicial officers, village-level entrepreneurs from Common Service Centers, law students, senior officials, and citizens, will attend in person, with additional digital participation.

Background of the Campaign

The ‘Hamara Samvidhan Hamara Samman’ campaign was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Vice-President of India on 24th January 2024 at the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar International Centre in New Delhi. The first regional event was inaugurated by the Honourable Chief Justice of India, Shri Justice D.Y. Chandrachud, in Bikaner, Rajasthan on 9th March 2024. Key milestones of this pan-India campaign include promoting awareness about the Constitution at the regional level, organizing sub-campaigns, and encouraging active citizen participation on the portal.
