Sports Ministry accords recognition to Handball Association of India
The Union Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports has made the decision to grant official recognition to the Handball Association of India (HAI) as the National Sports Federation (NSF) responsible for promoting and regulating the sport within the country.

HAI serves as the governing body for handball in India and has been a member of the Asian Handball Federation (AHF) and the International Handball Federation (IHF) since 1974. Additionally, it is also a member of the Commonwealth Handball Association and the South Asian Handball Federation.
The National Sports Federation of India (NSFOI) is dedicated to promoting the fundamental principles of sports on a national level, operating within the sports framework.
