Thomas Cook Partners with Muthoot Forex to Expand Payment Network

Thomas Cook (India) Limited has joined hands with Muthoot Forex, part of the well-known Muthoot Group, to make its travel and student forex cards available across India. This partnership uses Muthoot’s wide network of over 7,000 branches, including 43 specialized forex branches, to reach customers in big cities as well as smaller towns.

About the Partnership

The partnership is focused on two main products:

  • Borderless Travel Card: Made for international travelers.
  • Study Buddy Card: Specially designed for Indian students studying abroad.

These pre-paid forex cards will now be available at Muthoot branches in metro, mini-metros and Tier 2 to Tier 4 cities.

  • Offers the emergency cash help and free card replacement if lost or stolen

  • Has chip and PIN cover up to Rs.7.5 lakh
  • Offer 2.5% discounts on attractions and experiences
  • Users can earn up to 1,000 Edge Reward Points when they load $1,000 (or equivalent)

Study Buddy Card for Students

The Study Buddy Card is specially made for Indian students going abroad. It includes:

  • Free International Student Identity Card (ISIC)
  • Free global SIM card
  • One free ATM withdrawal per month
  • No surcharge at All Point ATMs in the USA, UK, Canada, Mexico and Australia
  • Zero mark-up on base currency spending
  • Fraud protection insurance
  • 24×7 customer support
