India Surpasses Kenya and Russia in Track & Field Doping Cases
According to Athletics Integrity Unit the worrying signs coming in which India has topped the global list of athletes which are suspended for the doping violations. As the 148 track and field athletes were declared ineligible and with this India have surpassed the Kenya and Russia. And this is raising the serious concerns about the integrity of athletics in the India.
The Athletics Integrity Unit is an independent body which was established by World Athletics. This body monitors the doping and also ensure the fair play in athletics globally.
The responsibilities of the AIU is to investigating the doping violations along with this also to enforcing the bans and suspension. They also monitoring the international level athletes and also their support staff.
The AIU has played the crucial role to maintaining transparency and discipline in global sports.

Also in this list not just doping is included several other things have also led to the suspension of the athletes. It also covers the tampering with samples of the athletes and they also try to evading doping tests reports.
Also they were suspended for to trafficking the banned substances and they fail to provide the related information.
These such violations have carry the penalties similar to the doping offences which is the strict Anti-Doping global framework.
According to the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) report of the 2024 nearly the 260 Indian athletes tested positive for the doping.
The India has also recorded the 3.6% positivity rate which is among the highest worldwide.
Nearly the over 7,100 samples were collected by the National Anti Doping Agency (NADA)
Surprisingly the no other country has recorded doping cases in triple digits and which highlights the scale of the issue in India.
As the 2024 Paris Olympics concluded the Athletics Federation of India (AFI) has taken the steps to reform training systems.
This reforms includes the decentralizing the national camps while encouraging training with private organizations.
Also they are improving monitoring and support systems for the athletes. Though technical experts have opinion that the stronger enforcement and awareness are still needed to solve this.
