Vaibhav Sooryavanshi Smashes Fastest List A Fifty in History During India A vs Sri Lanka A Final

India’s teenage sensation and young prodigy Vaibhav Sooryavanshi  smashed the fastest half century ever recorded in the List-A cricket during the Tri-Nation Series final between India A and Sri Lanka A on 21st of June, 2026. He scored the fifty in just 11 deliveries at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium and broke the 20 year old record and announced himself as the one of the brightest young talents in world cricket.

Breaking a 20-Year-Old World Record

Beforethe  Sooryavanshi’s remarkable feat, the record for the fastest List A fifty belonged to the Kaushalya Weeratne who had reached this milestone in 12 balls during a domestic match in Sri Lanka in the year 2005-06 season.

After getting to his half-century in only 11 deliveries, Sooryavanshi surpassed the record that had stood untouched for two decades.

Stunning Recovery After Difficult Tournament

The record-breaking innings was particularly important because Sooryavanshi has entered into the final under pressure.

Prior to the title clash, the teenager had struggled for the consistency in the tournament and had registered the series of low scores.

However, the final provided the perfect stage for the redemption. Instead of allowing pressure to affect his performance, Sooryavanshi has responded with one of the most explosive innings ever witnessed in the List A cricket.
