Vat Amavasya Meets Harit Yoga A Fusion of Tradition and Environmentalism
National Institute of Naturopathy (NIN), Pune, hosted a unique celebration combining Vat Amavasya with the Ministry of Ayush’s Harit Yoga initiative, as part of the lead-up to the 11th International Day of Yoga (IDY). The event underscored the symbolic and ecological importance of the Banyan tree (Vat Vriksh) while promoting yoga’s role in ecological harmony.
The event garnered attention due to its innovative integration of traditional Indian cultural practices with contemporary environmental goals under the Harit Yoga initiative. It highlighted the Ministry of Ayush’s proactive role in promoting ecological mindfulness through yoga in the run-up to IDY 2025, themed “Yoga for One Earth, One Health.”
