Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra Launched in SWGH

An impressive launch marked the initiation of the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra in South West Garo Hills, orchestrated by the District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) at MFC, Ampati. The nationwide initiative, a pivotal component of the Hamara Sankalp Viksit Bharat campaign, aims to inform and empower citizens about the various flagship schemes programs introduced by the Central Government.

Objective of Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra

The core objective of the Viksit Bharat Yatra is to raise awareness and facilitate the delivery of welfare scheme benefits to the vulnerable population. The campaign focuses on reaching out to citizens, disseminating information, learning from the people and enrolling beneficiaries in the process.

Key Government Schemes under Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra

Several Government schemes are integral to this initiative, including Ayushman Bharat-PMJAY, PM Garib Kalyan, PM Awas Yojna, PM Ujjwala Yojana, PM Vishwakarma, PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, Kisan Credit Card, Poshan Abhiyan, Jal Jeevan Mission, SVAMITVA, Jan Dhan Yojana and others.

Address by Deputy Commissioner R.P. Marak

South West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner R.P. Marak addressed the gathering, emphasizing the significance of the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra. He highlighted the lack of awareness among rural residents regarding the numerous welfare schemes meant for their benefit. Agriculture being the Nodal department, Marak outlined the district’s plan target 540 villages under the campaign. Stressing the importance of Aadhar seeding for availing full benefits, he shared the action plan and activities to be implemented at the block and VEC levels.

Objectives and Outreach Programs

ADC & PD, DRDA, R.Z.D. Shira, the District Nodal Officer for Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, shed light on the program’s objectives and outlined the upcoming activities and outreach programs. Shira called for collaboration among line departments to interact with the people during such activities and led the gathering in taking the “Hamara Viksit Sankalp Bharat Yatra” pledge.

Recognition of Achievements

The event recognized outstanding performers under NRLM, Anganwadi workers under ICDS and beneficiaries. Personal experiences were shared by some beneficiaries in the “Meri Kahaani Meri Zubaani” segment of the program.

On-Spot Services and Awareness Camps

As part of the event, various line departments and agencies set up stalls to provide on-the-spot services and awareness camps for beneficiaries, enhancing accessibility to information and services.
