An impressive launch marked the initiation of the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra in South West Garo Hills, orchestrated by the District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) at MFC, Ampati. The nationwide initiative, a pivotal component of the Hamara Sankalp Viksit Bharat campaign, aims to inform and empower citizens about the various flagship schemes programs introduced by the Central Government.
The core objective of the Viksit Bharat Yatra is to raise awareness and facilitate the delivery of welfare scheme benefits to the vulnerable population. The campaign focuses on reaching out to citizens, disseminating information, learning from the people and enrolling beneficiaries in the process.
Several Government schemes are integral to this initiative, including Ayushman Bharat-PMJAY, PM Garib Kalyan, PM Awas Yojna, PM Ujjwala Yojana, PM Vishwakarma, PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, Kisan Credit Card, Poshan Abhiyan, Jal Jeevan Mission, SVAMITVA, Jan Dhan Yojana and others.
South West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner R.P. Marak addressed the gathering, emphasizing the significance of the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra. He highlighted the lack of awareness among rural residents regarding the numerous welfare schemes meant for their benefit. Agriculture being the Nodal department, Marak outlined the district’s plan target 540 villages under the campaign. Stressing the importance of Aadhar seeding for availing full benefits, he shared the action plan and activities to be implemented at the block and VEC levels.

The event recognized outstanding performers under NRLM, Anganwadi workers under ICDS and beneficiaries. Personal experiences were shared by some beneficiaries in the “Meri Kahaani Meri Zubaani” segment of the program.
