Who is the Inventor of Bifocal Lens?

Towards the end of the 19th century, Louis de Wecker introduced a method to fuse the lenses together, enhancing durability and optical clarity. Dr. John L. Borsch, Jr. later patented a refined fusion technique in 1908, marking a significant advancement in bifocal lens manufacturing. This development paved the way for the creation of single-piece bifocal lenses, which became more widely accessible and practical.

Throughout the 20th century, bifocal lenses continued to evolve. By the 1980s, the first bifocal contact lenses were introduced, offering wearers a more versatile and comfortable alternative to traditional eyeglasses.
