Wimbledon 2025 Sets New Prize Money Record at $73 Million
In a major development ahead of the 2025 Wimbledon Championships, the All England Club has announced a record prize fund of £53.5 million (approx. $73 million). Each men’s and women’s singles champion will take home £3 million ($4 million) — an 11.1% increase from last year. This remarkable rise not only highlights tennis’s commercial growth but also responds to players’ increasing calls for a fairer share of Grand Slam profits.
The announcement on June 12, 2025, revealed a 7% increase in Wimbledon’s total prize money compared to 2024, with significant boosts across all competition levels, including early rounds. This development comes amid ongoing debates on player welfare, financial equity, and the introduction of new technologies in tennis. Notably, Wimbledon 2025 will also mark the first edition without human line judges, shifting to fully electronic line-calling.
