World Youth Skills Day 2026: Theme, Date, History and Significance
World Youth Skills Day 2026 will be celebrated worldwide on July 15, 2026, (Wednesday) with the title, “Skills for a Shared Future.” The United Nations (UN) is the organizer of the day, which promotes the significance of preparing the youth with the technological, digital, vocational, and life skills which are required in the world driven by modernisation. The theme of the year 2026 focuses on the importance of continued learning, inclusion in education, and cooperation between public administrations, industry, and education sectors in building a strong workforce.
World Youth Skills Day is a yearly international celebration of the role of vocational and technical skills in the lives of young people.

The United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on 15 July 2014, established 15 July as World Youth Skills Day via Resolution A/RES/69/145.
The first World Youth Skills Day was observed on 15 July 2015.
This day was created to recognize the importance of providing youth with skills that will make them employable, as well as promote Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) globally.
Since then governments, educational institutions, businesses and international organizations have celebrated this day through seminars, workshops, training programs, and awareness-raising campaigns.
The day serves to reflect the increasing significance of preparing the youth with competencies that meet the demands of contemporary industries and future economies.
