Background of World Youth Skills Day
The United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on 15 July 2014, established 15 July as World Youth Skills Day via Resolution A/RES/69/145.
The first World Youth Skills Day was observed on 15 July 2015.
This day was created to recognize the importance of providing youth with skills that will make them employable, as well as promote Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) globally.
Since then governments, educational institutions, businesses and international organizations have celebrated this day through seminars, workshops, training programs, and awareness-raising campaigns.
