The registration portal for the eagerly awaited Phase III of Yuva Sangam, a flagship initiative under Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB), was officially launched today. This visionary program, crafted by the Government of India, seeks to strengthen the people-to-people connections among the youth hailing from different States and Union Territories (UTs) of India. Young individuals between the ages of 18-30, including students, NSS/NYKS volunteers, employed/self-employed persons, and more, are invited to register through the YUVA SANGAM portal for the upcoming Phase. More information is available at https://ebsb.aicte-india.org/.
The concept of fostering a sustained and structured cultural connection between people from diverse regions was first conceptualized by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi during the Rashtriya Ekta Divas held on 31st October 2015, in honor of the birth anniversary of the great Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. To realize this vision, the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB) initiative was officially launched on 31st October 2016.
Yuva Sangam, operating under the umbrella of EBSB, takes inspiration from the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The program’s core focus is on experiential learning and the firsthand acquisition of knowledge about India’s rich diversity. It is an ongoing cultural exchange with the celebration of diversity at its core. Participants have the unique opportunity to gain an immersive experience in various aspects of life, explore natural landscapes, learn about development milestones, and engage in meaningful youth interactions in the host state.
In Phase III of Yuva Sangam, the program has reached new heights, encompassing 20 eminent institutions across India. This phase will witness participants from these 20 Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) embarking on journeys to 22 states and UTs, ensuring an extensive cultural immersion experience.
Yuva Sangam offers an enriching and multi-dimensional exposure for youth across the nation, focusing on five broad areas:
The success of Yuva Sangam is a testament to collaborative efforts from various ministries, including the Ministry of Education, Home Affairs, Culture, Tourism, Youth Affairs & Sports, Information & Broadcasting, and Railways. Each ministry plays a unique role in implementing this remarkable initiative.
Yuva Sangam has made a significant impact on the nation by fostering a spirit of volunteerism among its delegates. They have actively participated in various national events, including the NEP Celebrations, Akhil Bhartiya Shiksha Samagam, Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations, Meri Maati Mera Desh campaign, and numerous other nation-building activities.
In conclusion, Yuva Sangam stands as a testament to the power of cultural exchange in uniting India’s youth, celebrating diversity, and fostering cross-cultural friendships. As Phase III unfolds, this initiative promises to continue promoting the values of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat, strengthening the nation’s cultural fabric. For those interested, the registration portal is now open, offering a unique opportunity to embark on this cultural journey across India.
