3rd Indian Analytical Congress Explores ‘Green Transitions’

Analytical science refers to the art of measurement and its interpretation. It involves improving the means of measuring the chemical composition, structure, and morphology of natural and man-made substances or entities and interpreting the data obtained.

Dehradun Hosts Premier Analytical Science Event

The 3rd Indian Analytical Congress, an international conference organized by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research-Indian Institute of Petroleum (CSIR-IIP) and the Indian Society of Analytical Scientists (ISAS-Delhi Chapter), is being held in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, from June 5 to 7, 2024.

Uniting Analytical Experts

The conference aims to provide a platform for analytical scientists, technologists, academics, and students to exchange ideas and discuss the latest developments in this field. It was inaugurated by Prof. S.K. Mehta, Vice-Chancellor of Ladakh University, on June 5, 2024.

Theme: ‘Role of Science and Technology in Green Transitions’

The theme of the 3rd Indian Analytical Congress 2024 is “Role of Science and Technology in Green Transitions,” highlighting the importance of sustainable development and environmental conservation.

CSIR-IIP: Driving Petroleum Research

The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research-Indian Institute of Petroleum (CSIR-IIP), established in Dehradun on April 14, 1960, is a premier research and development body in the country, focusing on innovative technologies for refining crude petroleum oil and its products.

CSIR: Spearheading Scientific and Industrial Research

The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), an autonomous society established in 1942, is the premier government-funded scientific and industrial research organization in India. It operates under the Union Ministry of Science and Technology, with a network of 37 national laboratories, 3 Innovation Complexes, 39 outreach centers, and 5 units across the country.

Nallathamby Kalaiselvi: Breaking Barriers

Notably, CSIR is currently led by Nallathamby Kalaiselvi, the first woman to be appointed as the Director General of the esteemed organization.
