The venue, Veer Savarkar Sports Complex in Narangpura, was recently inaugurated and now joins the ranks of international-standard sports infrastructure in India. Boost to India’s Olympic and Commonwealth Aspirations

Hosting the championship is seen as a strategic step in India’s long-term goal to,

  • Host the 2030 Commonwealth Games
  • Bid for the 2036 Olympic Games
  • By demonstrating organizational capacity, world-class infrastructure, and sporting culture, Gujarat—especially Ahmedabad—is positioning itself as a future global sports destination.

The event also builds on India’s ongoing campaign to elevate its international sports profile following recent successes in cricket, hockey, and athletics.
