Andhra Pradesh Launches 'Rythanna Meekosam' to Empower Farmers
On November 24, 2025, the Andhra Pradesh government launched a large-scale initiative titled ‘Rythanna Meekosam’, a farmer-centric programme designed to provide long-term support under a Five-Point Formula. Spearheaded by Agriculture Minister K. Atchannaidu, the program was inaugurated in Krishna district, and will run from November 24 to 29, with workshops scheduled on December 3 at Farmer Service Centres.

These components are designed to not only alleviate financial stress on farmers but also to modernise agriculture, make it resilient, and enhance farm-level profitability.
Minister Atchannaidu stated that the government has spent ₹1,000 crore in the last 18 months to directly aid farmers. This investment is targeted at building an agriculture ecosystem that ensures sustainability, especially during natural disasters like cyclones, which frequently affect the state’s 1,100 km coastline.
He reiterated that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s leadership aims to provide permanent solutions to agricultural challenges and that the current reforms are aimed at helping farmers withstand uncertainties and market volatility.

The government also emphasized food processing units to enable value addition for crops. These units are aimed at enhancing farmers’ earnings by connecting them to domestic and international markets.
Additionally, price protection measures are in place through government procurement of crops like tobacco, mango, onion, and coconut, which often face volatile pricing.
Under the PM-Kisan Annadata Sukhibhava scheme, the state has disbursed over ₹3,200 crore to more than 68 lakh farmers, reinforcing its commitment to improving rural livelihoods.
