Asia Cup Points Table 2023, Indian Team Points

The Asia Cup 2023 is the 14th edition of the Asia Cup of One Day Internationals (ODIs) organized by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC). It started on August 30, 2023, and will be played till September 17, 2023. Six teams in India, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Nepal, and defending champions Sri Lanka will tussle for a place in the final. A total of 13 matches are expected to be played, and its format is as uncomplicated as they come. Four out of six teams will qualify for the Super 4s, after which the top two will clash for the title in the final.

On September 17, 2023, at Colombo’s R. Premadasa Stadium, India secured their eighth Asia Cup title by defeating Sri Lanka with a commanding 10-wicket victory in the final. This marked India’s first Asia Cup win since 2018. Sri Lanka won the toss and opted to bat first but struggled, managing to score only 50 runs, which became the lowest total ever recorded in an Asia Cup final. Mohammed Siraj delivered an exceptional performance for India, taking 6 wickets for just 21 runs. India’s response was swift as they chased down the target in a mere 6.1 overs without losing a single wicket. Ishan Kishan contributed 23 runs off 18 balls, while Shubhman Gill added 27 runs off 19 balls.

India is currently at the top of the points table, followed by Sri Lanka and Pakistan. Bangladesh is at the bottom of the table, having lost both of their matches. The Asia Cup 2023 is being played in Sri Lanka. The Super 4 stage of the tournament is currently underway, with the top four teams from the group stage progressing to this stage. The top two teams from the Super 4 stage will then play in the final.
